Summer 2021 - Women in Wikipedia - Part 1

This summer, five Earlham students are working on the Women in Wikipedia project. They will be adding biographies of women in psychology, economics, international studies, and more. Meet two of our team members.

Krishna Cousins

I'm a senior Psychology and Spanish and Hispanic Studies double major at Earlham College. I am interested in Child Psychology, especially as it pertains to providing therapy for children in Spanish-speaking communities. I joined the Peer Lab wanting to expand the representation of women (especially non-white women) in the field of psychology. In the Peer Lab I am also hoping to learn more about women who have helped paved the way in Child Psychology, while expanding my research abilities and creating more accessible sources for others.

Salma Khalaf

I’m a senior at Earlham College, majoring in International Studies and minoring in Math. I’m very passionate about defending Palestinians’ rights, especially women and children. I have been engaged in the field of activism and organizing for three years now. I hope through this research on Women in Wikipedia, I’d be able to make more underrepresented women known and help spread their work. I’ll be highlighting the work of Palestinian and Arab women in my articles. I’ll also translate some Wikipedia pages from Arabic to English.
